The 2021 4xe will not stay connected via CarPlay; the 2020 had no issues with that iPhone and software version (or any software version on that iPhone for the last 6 months). One weird thing I’ve found: if you connect your iPhone via CarPlay in the 2021 and switch to the “Media” screen in the Jeep, it will stay connected and play music.

On USB2, it will work for maybe a minute or two, then freeze to indicate that it is disconnecting. It usually reconnects after unplugging and plugging back in, but then will do it again after a couple of minutes.
