I have no previous experience with carburetors, so this is a learning curve. First crank the quad started immediately. It really smokes! There is an adjustment that can be made to regulate the amount of injected oil. When I bought my 2000 Xplorer 400, I had the dealer adjust it so it gets a little more oil than is called for in the service manual. When I got it it did not run, but with alot of work I have gotten it running but not very well, or not in my opinion.
