The engine was built in a D1VE block, used Eagle rods and JE pistons, it made 902 horsepower on my dyno running on racing gasoline, 33 degrees timing.and basically any block will go .080 over (4.440).. basically any block is good for a 557 is what Im saying.. all the stroker kits are basically the same money.. and there is absolutely no reason not to go right to the 557.. you'd really be kinda stupid not to go 557 if you're buying any kit..
