Basically, if the engine is lugging down when you shift the dual power into direct (rabbit, high etc,) you can expect that the clutches are warped on the LOW or under drive side. Leaks on top of the pump won't cause slobber from the exhaust. If the engine has been apart recently, it shouldn't be too big of a deal to pull the hood and exhaust manifold. That will tell you which cylinders are wet/dry. Not always easy to tell whether it's fuel or oil at this point.
