It has also been known as 2nd Thurston County Courthouse and Pender School. It was built as a school in 1895 and was converted to a courthouse in 1927. Architect J.F. Reynolds of Sioux City, Iowa designed the conversion.On Sunday, Nov. 26, 2023, the SBI conducted a consensual search of the Pender County Courthouse located at 100 S. Wright St. in Burgaw and the Frances Dawson Basden Judicial Annex. Assistant County Manager Alan Vann gave the SBI access to the courthouse and the annex he could enter.Pender County's Auctions will be administered by GovDeals, an online auction service specializing in surplus government property liquidation.
